Meet the Member
Christian van der Schijff, PT, DPT, SCS, LAT, ATC, CSCS, is a dual-licensed physical therapist and athletic trainer specializing in sports performance and injury rehabilitation. He is currently in his second season with the New England Revolution, where he serves as a physical therapist for Revolution II and Academy Rehab Supervisor. Originally from South Africa, but raised in Ashland, Massachusetts, Christian earned his degrees from Northeastern University (DPT) and Salem State University (AT), where he developed a strong foundation in movement science and a passion for working with high-level athletes. He is a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) and brings a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to athlete care. Christian has gained experience across multiple professional sports organizations, including clinical affiliations with the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers. He also served as the team physical therapist for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants during their 2021 Orlando bubble season. In addition, he was the Head of Rehabilitation for the Austin Gilgronis of Major League Rugby, where he led return-to-play planning and performance integration for a full season prior to the organization’s dissolution. Outside of his professional role, he enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife & daughter in Franklin Massachusetts.
